Best journey ever in a camper van across northern New Zealand Philip, Paul and Kash were really nice with us and explained us everything to have a safe and pleasant trip. Will definitely recommend and reserve in this agency again for our next trip, this time, in southern New Zealand

We were very happy with checkout process. The communication was excellent and the support provided was great. With the bedding, we did not receive any pillow, but only the pillowcases. The vehicle was somewhat difficult to drive. A little bit more information on orientation would’ve been helpful. Clarification on what the cleaning package includes, including the fact that we do have to empty the graywater and Blackwater would’ve been great. We did empty them ourselves anyway prior to checking out. Overall a positive experience. For first time campers, we would highly recommend not getting manual transmission. We would also highly recommend some orientation and recommendations in regards to how to enhance the camping experience so that it’s not so stressful.

The Indie Camper team was super helpful. Loved the rooftop tent, so comfy!!! We were travelling with three people so opted to rent an additional tent and I definitely don't recommend doing this. The tent was small and not suitable for the weather. We ended up buying a tent after the first night. At check out, the Indie Camper listened to our feedback and offered to refund the money for the tent hire. We were super happy with the series provided by Indie Camper but definitely recommend buying/bringing your own additional tent if you need one.

Only cleanliness complaint was that the cups weren’t all cleaned, and had grown mould in the bottom - these were easily washed but was a little gross to find. And the QR code on the windscreen when scanned to find manuals only said “coming soon” so not much help. Had a great trip, the rooftop tent was a little cold but that was our choice to camp rather than use an enclosed camper! Very easy to get around the whole north island and find spots to camp even on the day.

One tip: on The webpage of The Trekker it would have been Nice if it were mentioned that the Trekker is not self-contained and what that means in NZ. This would have altered our choice. Otherwise: all fine! Prima auto met 4WD! Is niet self-contained dus de meer remote plekken kun je niet op staan

Kashish was excellent, so helpful and welcoming! No improvements! Vehicle was great! I would suggest installing a mosquito net in the back so the doors can be open.

We booked this camper van because the website stated and advertised that Indie Campers operated out of Auckland Airport. The booking confirmation then said a different address which was very confusing. We then had to pay for Ubers both ways from Auckland airport and would like to be reimbursed for these trips. We really enjoyed our time with the camper. The van was in great condition, we even named her Gloria because we loved her so much! Kashish was excellent and really helpful on drop off. Thank you for a great experience!

The only thing on pick up was that we were not informed of some glass thing that is above the cook top. We saw bits of broken glass on our first use of the stove and asked when dropping off. Seems there is a glass plate missing from there upon giving it to us and it was not mentioned. Drop off was easy, the employee checking his out was polite and thorough and pleasant to talk with. Thank you Indie Campers!

We bought a doormat to keep the interior clean. Could be a useful inclusion to the essentials kit?

A small step in the car would be nice to reach fridge and things in the back easier. The car with pop up tent and kitchen in the back is really great. Everything works perfectly and is very well done. The bed ist comfortable and stable. Good weather is important cause cooking in the rain is not really funny! But the pop up tent is perfectly protected.

A more comprehensive run through of the van and all its features. This was our first time renting a camper, any questions we had were answered, but equally, we didn't know about some things in an advance to be able to ask questions. Also, we were misinformed about which way was on/off on the gas meaning that initially, we drove with it on. In general, we enjoyed having the van and enjoyed the experience. However, there were quite a lot of 'niggles': - Lights falling out above the stove as we drive along - Table leg not screwed in properly - No blue sticker on the front, whilst others do (we were questioned on this at a free camp site) - Grey water tap not working / black 'discs' fell out as we emptied. An indicator dial for grey water would also be useful. Other person has had the same issue (same about the gas). - Wrongly informed about gas - it was therefore left on when we first drove. It also caused huge confusion when we first tried to cook - Window does not hold water heater clicker in place - we had no hot water to start with. - Bathroom window does not hold itself open consistently, so no ventilation. Back windows similar. - Battery retention is not good, have thrown out three cartons of milk despite 100 km a day - Could not open door as often as the screen would not budge, due to a stopper left - Hose attachment not provided, therefore we waste a lot of clean water when refilling, we also got wet, and general inconvenience - Bathroom cupboard handle is iffy
